Our Oregon Trip
Its been a couple of weeks since we got back and I finally got on the blog. I just wanted to thank all of my children for the wonderful trip. What a great surprise for my 60th birthday. It couldn't have been more wonderful!!! We left on Friday and went to Lincoln and stayed in the Pelican Shores Motel. It was very nice and our sliding door opened up to the beach. We left the door open at night and listened to the waves on the shore. It was perfect! The weather was wonderful and it didn't get above 70 degrees the whole time. The beach was just as we remembered it. We ate a Mo's which is a popular place to eat. Good Food! We bought two chairs and sat on the beach at night watching the tide come in. The first night we stayed until after 10. Most pople our age are asleep by then. It was wonderful. We visited many places along the shore line. We went to church sunday morning and then left for Astoria. We stopped at Tillamook to see the cheese factory but since it was sunday mom wouldn't let me buy anything. She kept us on the straight and narrow. Our hotel in Astoria was wonderful. It was under the bridge that crosses the Columbia river. Remember that long bridge? It was an awsome hotel. There was a walkway along the river right behind the hotel. Sunday night we ate in Seaside and drove around and found the house we stayed in. It was just the same. The next day we went back to Seaside and found the taffy store and bought lots of taffy. then we walked back to the house and out onto the beach. Our log was gone but there were the sanddollars and shells. We went to Cannon beach and ate dinner there that night. We visited some wonderful places in Astoria. All in all it was a wonderful trip. I want to thank all of you for being such great childern. I don't know how we could be more blessed to have each of you. We love you and all of our grandchildren. Dad

Max's quiet time
He finally did it! Max fell asleep on his own. This is the first time in 2 years! He was having his quiet time from 12:45 to 1:45 in the playroom. I went and checked on him at 1:45 and he was talking and playing so I left him. I went and checked on him again at 2:00 and didn't hear anything so I opened the door quietly, and this is what I found. Him asleep on the chair with his books. He looked so uncomfortable, but I wasn't about to move him! So cute.

This may be one for the record books. We have purchased a family tent and enough sleeping bags for most of the family anyway, and will be travelling back to Zion (oh wait, Zion is where ever you make it, right) via the National Park Service campgrounds along the indicated route. We may show up at your homes stinky and in need of showers, please feel free to turn the hose on us.
