Christmas Fun

Here is a picture of Katie at her preschool Christmas party. She is sitting by her best friend, Grahm, the little boy in the glasses. I wanted her to make some girl friends so she could be a little more girly but of coarse her best friend is a boy and they play super heros all day. Katie brought cookies to share with everyone and Grahm looked at his cookie and asked Katie if she brought it and she said yes with a big smile and he said, "Ew, I don't like your cookies" and she almost started to cry. Now is that future husband material or what.

We went to see Santa and the line was an hour wait. So we were waiting for a while and I asked Katie if she was sure she wanted to see Santa and she shook her head. She was scared and said lets just put the list in my shoe or the mail. (She had her list in her purse.) So I took her up to stand by the fence to get her picture taken and she wouldn't even stand by it. I had to force her to sit by me while we took her picture. At least we didn't waste an hour in line.

McKay and Katie in their Christmas finery. The other day, they were playing and Katie threw something at McKay and it went in his eye and he was crying and I said you can't throw things at people it will make them blind. And she said, "Mom it's ok, we can just get some mud and rub it on his eyes and wash it off and he can see again." I guess all those lessons are sinking in.

Hope you all have a great Christmas!

ARE YOU KIDDING!

Ok - I got my hair cut today and while she was drying my hair, I asked her if she'd seen girls with short curled hair. You know, the soft curls that everyone has lately. I love it, and wanted to know if she could do it to my hair.
Oh ya, she says, that is so cute, and so easy. I'll do it to your hair, you'll love it!

This is what I'm thinking:

Cute right? Soft curls, my hair is about this length. Should be cute right??

So she begins curling and I'm thinking, this looks pretty cute, I think I could do this when I get home. She starts on the left side and works her way around the back. Now she's curling the right side. Now she says, man this isn't curling very well over here. And she keeps curling, and playing with it, and about 5 min. later she says, ok, sometimes you just have to leave it alone. and she takes off the cape. I'm thinking - you mean leave it alone for a few minutes, and figure out why my hair is so freaking ugly?? Ok, I'll sit in the chair until you figure it out. Oh, no she was done trying to "figure it out" and I got up and paid.

You know it's not good when the girl at the front desk where you pay won't look at you in the eye. She kept stealing glances, and probably peed her pants when I left from laughing so hard. I wanted to say, really, you really want me to walk out of the salon looking like this?? Is that good publicity? Let's just say I didn't quite look like Jessica Simpson. Please enlarge the pictures to get the full effect.

Still Summer in Dallas

Since today is 96 degrees and 90 percent humidity, I thought I would celebrate by sending some summer pictures. We had a fun time with everyone and can't wait to see you all next summer.... hopefully for good.
